Perhaps the oldest recorded of the Holistic Medical Systems dating back over 5000 years, it translates as 'The Knowledge of Life' in Sanskrit.
It combines herbs, massage, yoga, meditations, mantras and lifestyle techniques to manage the 'Doshas', or elemental forces, present throughout nature and of which we ourselves are comprised. Ayurveda teaches that we all have a constitution which is our individual psychobiological makeup. From the moment of conception this individual constitution is created by the universal energies of Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. These 5 elements combine into 3 fundamental energies, also known as "The Doshas". Ether and Air constitute 'Vata', which is the energy of movement. Fire and Water constitute 'Pitta', the principle of digestion or metabolism, the transformation of matter into energy, and Water and Earth make up Kapha, the energy of structure and lubrication.
During the time of conception, the vata-pitta-kapha factors from the parents bodies that are most active and predominant at the moment, due to the season, the time, the emotional state, and the quality of their relationship, form a new individual with a particular constellation of qualities. This is our individual constitution also known in Ayurvedic terms as your 'Prakriti'. A constant factor that does not change throughout life. It is our own unique pattern of energy, our combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics and predispositions.
However due to changes throughout our lives the doshic balance can be disturbed. As the internal and external conditions of our lives change, if we are going to remain healthy we need to constantly adjust in order to maintain equilibrium.
To maintain health and balance, we have to juggle with the 3 doshas, taking action to increase or decrease vata, pitta or kapha as conditions demand. Thus healing, balanced, conscious living in the fullness of the present moment - is really a way of life. Ayurveda is not a passive form of therapy but rather asks each individual to take responsibility for his or her own daily living. in our daily lives we can take simple actions for prevention, self healing, wholeness and growth toward fulfillment.

There are many chakras, however seven main chakras are the ones of focus here. During this powerful treatment, after a gentle massage to loosen up the back, Himalayan Rock Salt is placed into muslin cloth, wrapped at the base to produce a round poultice which is then heated and applied directly onto the 7 chakras. Taman Shamanic Guided Meditation
The Taman are a Dayak (non-Muslim Borneo Indigene) ethnic group of 5,000 inhabiting ten small villages along the Kapuas, Mendalam and Sibau Rivers in Borneo. The remoteness of the area contributes to the persistence of traditional ways of life. Those who practice healing rely completely on their relationship with the Spirits. Taman Shamanic curing uses no medicine, it treats ill-nesses resulting from the attack of a 'Sai' Spirit, on a person's 'sumangat' Soul.
It is believed a person's sumangat has the same experience as the person, but it can separate itself from the body, travel and materialize. An individual has eight sumangat. All but one original sumangat may leave the body, especially during sleep, which result in dreams. This guided meditation involves exploring the remaining seven sumangat's frequent locations and taking information into the subconscious as to learn more about ourselves and cleanse the soul of any unwanted energies. Chanting and bells are used sporadically to protect and aid the concentration of the client throughout this treatment.
Buddhist Vipassana Meditation
Vipassana translated as 'to see things as they really are', is an ancient practice taught by buddha to experience mindfulness. Through self observation we can clear our minds of everything that does not serve us in our journey to self transformation. It encourages awareness to thoughts, feelings and ego perceptions in a non attached way. I offer this treatment in two ways. Firstly for those who have already completed a vipassana course and wish to meditate with ours. Secondly for those who have not experienced vipassana and are intrigued to try it but may not be able to attend a ten day retreat. This will therefore be a guided meditation into mindfulness. Sensations of the body will be purely observed with no attachment always in the present moment.

Yogic Breathing with Guided Meditation
Yogic breathing can take on many forms, however for this meditation 'Nadis Sodhana' Alternate nostril breathing is used. It is believed by Yogis that this way of breathing will clean and rejuvenate the vital channels of energy throughout the body. 'Nadis' energy channels and 'Sodhana' purify. The left nostril is associated with the moon and female energies, which is very calming, as the right nostril is the sun, male energy, which can be very stimulating. By alternating the inhale and exhale breath the mind becomes balanced and meditation becomes a lot easier. Meditation is a state of consciousness where the person goes deep within themselves, focusing the mind and eradicating any outside influences to enable a state of relaxation and peace. This is a guided meditation which is tailored to your individual needs and preferences with the use of sound, colour and incense.
Crystal Healing - Chakra Balancing
Crystals were created in the womb of the earth over millions of years by the action of water, wind and volcanic fire. They carry life force and healing powers from earth and sky. Their healing properties were recorded more than 3,500 years ago by the Ancient Egyptians, and by cultures in China and India. With the use of a pendulum, appropriate healing crystals are chosen and placed on the chakras or around the body to activate and support the natural self-healing process. After completion of treatment clients report feeling well balanced, cleansed and energised. If a guided meditation is requested during this therapy it can be a very powerful session.
Native Amerindian Crystal Healing
According to the Ancient Greek philosopher Plato, crystals are formed from the stars and planets. The Australian Aboriginals and the Native Amerindians of South America consider crystals the bones of Mother Earth herself. According to Native Amerindian beliefs, crystals can communicate while existing on multiple dimensions. They offer us information we cannot reach ourselves, and they promote harmonic symmetry and perfection within the world. The first stage of this treatment is for the client to choose the crystals to be used during the therapy, these crystals are rubbed over body parts for which the associated system of the body is connected within the chosen stones, this is called the 'Bubut' process, or to 'extract'. The crystals are then plunged into a concoction of herbs and spices which are heated. The wet stones are stroked over the body with deep pressure on certain points, and sometimes breath is used to blow the energy through the crystal onto the flesh. An original native tribal therapy that will leave the body cleared and energised.

Reflexology dates back to 2000BC. An inscription of a practitioner working on a patient's feet, in a similar way to reflexology today has been found in an Egyptian tomb. This treatment is based on the idea that our feet hands and ears have points related to every part of the body. The whole body and its systems are mapped onto these areas. The technique used to apply pressure to this mirror of the body is firm thumb motions known as walking on the feet, or hands. No oil is used, often powder is applied in order to maintain grip to the skin. Through thumb walking over every part of the foot or hand the therapist can pick up certain points that may have imbalances, by working thoroughly over these areas equilibrium eventually can be the positive result.
Reiki is a form of subtle energy healing. It is very gentle and is an ideal treatment for those who can not have physical touch treatments making it a perfect alternative for people who have just had accidents, surgery and especially for people going through cancer treatments. It promotes self healing and can have an energising effect on the body and mind. The technique is known as hands on healing, where the practitioner will either hold the hands over the client's body or rest the hands on the body.
